tune disabled - e85 code?
So I brought my car in this morning to the dealer to get a state inspection / emissions. Last night, as a good measure, I set my JB4 to map 0 and reflashed my BMS backend back to stock with MHD flasher. This morning I was blessed with the half engine light on the way to the dealer. I wasn't WOT at all and prob didn't get over 4k rpm. I had just filled up a couple days ago with about E30(93oct gas and 30% E85). The half engine light went off after a restart of the car on the dealer lot.
I didn't have my reader so I have no idea what code it was. Car has been running great for months without an issue. My only thought was maybe the car, when running stock everything, will detect a high mixture of ethanol and throw a code? Both my oem hpfp and lpfp have been running easily within norms per recent logs. Only other mods are DCI and ER chargepipe with TIAL BOV. I am hoping no issue with my inspection and report back. Just curious if this makes sense to anyone else? 2009 335i Coupe - Pre LCI - N54 - 6MT |

Yes your code is probably related to running too much E85 on stock flash.
Cant be sure 100% until you pull the codes

The code wasn't bad enough to fail the inspection. The dealer didn't even mention it. I immediately reflashed with MHD when I got it home so I can only assume everyone's suspicions.
Thank you all! |
