For pointers on what should/shouldn't be there, look at Nick Pritchard's E91 M3, done exactly how factory would have been. Flawless car.

Personally don't like this, colours are wrong and it all seemed a bit bodged when I saw it on eBay. But I love E91s and the M3 bodies are cool.

Things are starting to tick along as I pick up the bits and pieces that the car needed. Finally sourced a window switch for the folding mirrors and the diagnostic lead and software needed for all the coding, had a play about and comfortable enough with it now.

Plan to do the rear light cluster rewire and code out the errors so that the reverse light works this weekend. Done all the research on which parts need coding changed. From what I can tell nothing needs added to the VO

For the mirrors I know I need to add $430 and $313. I have the other things that need changed if I want to go for comfort close and that

The m3 seats are a strange one, the drivers seat works fine, all functions including memory. Passenger doesn't move forward or up and down all other functions work. From what I can tell I think I need to add $494 for the heated seats, panel is already installed and wired but can't manage to see what needs added to the VO that will have the passenger side working. Any ideas?

Haven't spent any time looking for what needs coded for the xenons but that will be the next on the list.
Coming along nicely, some amount of info in here to look through. It's great

Well hardly the update anyone wants to put up but someone drove into the car and scarpered off so things needed sorted. With some moral support and good looks with a radiating tan a couple of the boys came round while I stripped the parts off to check the damage leaving me like this

To say I got away relatively lightly with no damage to the headlight and the minimalist of scuffs on the very front of the bumper is an understatement, silver lining and all that. No damage other than the cosmetic which is a relief

Leaving me with a cracked wing and a gash in the bumper it was time to get hunting for a new ones of both, or at least second hand. Second hand e90 m3 wings just don't exist, searched high and low and while I could get a bumper it was still going to be pushing the 200 mark for a second hand one. Backed into a corner I had nothing to loose by seeing what plastic welding would achieve, and it was about time I added that to my repertoire anyway. So order a few bits a pieces off t'internet, read as many articles and 'how to's ' as possible checking what welded to what plastics, how to make the strongest weld and decided to give it a go on some test pieces before moving to the car parts.
Wing came out really well and very strong, happy days just needed the touch from a bodywork person and I set on about sorted the same story with the bumper. Cut out the bad parts and welded in a new section keeping it all. Wing was ABS and took a certain type of filler rod and technique and the bumper mostly polyproprolene and the same story with it. The both turned out well considering what had only cost me materials and my time. I had them both checked over for structural rigidity and were given the green light for prep and paint

While that went off I took a hissyfit at pieces nagging me while the car sat in the garage and now seemed a decent time to get it sorted.
Changed both thermostats for piece of mind and to see the temp needle back up just a smidgen. The common leak on the 35d's boost hoses was replaced with one from forge

New discs all round combined with yellowstuff pads which gets a decent rep from everyone, so be interesting to see what they are like

Changed both rear wheel bearings recently after no end of garages telling me they didn't have a bearing press but could hammer it out and back in no problem. I thought i'd save them the hassle on that one and sort it myself taking the hub off ... Should probably buy a bearing press some day when I have the room for it. Fronts were a very easy on the other hand and was time to get my *** on

Wasn't really expecting to come across a broken coil spring when I started working away on the front suspension but apparently this is common on some of the bmw's. Was news to me but made sense to start thinking about suspension upgrades. Really want to do air but thats a 3k bill, not 100% convinced or have enough knowledge about hydro, I'm done with coils now and just wouldn't suit what the whole point of the car was so I was left with either standard springs, h+r's, Eibach sportline or prolines as the main competitors. H+R's and sportiness probably look great but a tad low and just have no interest in getting pissed off going places or getting in/over things so the pro-lines are on their way over from germany as we speak, 20mm drop should keep me happy and wasn't really a bus to start with.... Epic GBP to EURO rate at the mo (y)

And just today the bumper and wing were picked up from paint so happy days get the springs in and then everything back together and I'll take another photo. Have had the number plate screw holes filled in and i'll decide how I want to deal with that

Have the engine oil and filter to change, going to order gearbox and diff oil soon and then do the swirl flaps but needless to say the car got a pretty decent refresh... not that it needed it.

Lovely colour. My first thoughts were change the wheels and lower it and it would be looking 100x better! Fair play for doing all that work yourself!

I'd love to lower it, and all of my other cars have had a lovely stance I just don't want to end up getting annoyed with it as a daily driver, air I assume would be a great compromise. And at the same time i'll not know what type of wheels and offsets I can run until its at the height I want, few ideas non the less for when it happens

FYI -> http://www.bmwowners.ro/modified/bmw...pritchard.html

Also, top work on that bumper repair! You did a great job there!

I'm not a massive fan of the color of yours, but overall it does look nice. As Digitalize says though, I cant quite put my finger on it but something just doesn't look quite right.

Looking at yours and the other side by side, maybe some slightly bigger rims and a bit more drop would help? Or could just be that it's a non standard colour maybe?

It def needs to come down more, totally agree with that but it will need to wait for air for the adjustability. Coilovers just aren't for daily driving for me anymore, all my cars have been perfectly stanced until this.

I think with the darker colour it needs lighter wheels looking at nicks there, but no bigger than the 19s that I have, just couldn't do it. Silver m3 wheels didn't suit it, the new wheels down the line should set it off nicely

Needs lighter wheels and a lower stance for sure.

His huge brakes help too.

Yeah that's the wing plastic welded, it's more than strong enough

Got the eibach pro's fitted, the euro rate is a life saver so back out and about. Rears dropped even though they shouldn't have so going to put spring perches in the front to even everything out. Identical comfort levels, but drop was minimal as expected

Looked into retractable plates and sticker plates bit think I'm going to go either suction cup or magnets so the number plate holder doesn't need to go back on

I think the likes of a cic upgrade from makkan will be on the future cards and it def needs spacers once I know the drop has settled
