ECS Sent Wrong Plugs?
Question for the experts, as I just got off the phone tonight with a rude rep over at ECS who was no help at all. I have a 2011 e92 335i Xdrive with the N55. I'm going JB4 and bolt ons this weekend, and needed to replace plugs before I do. I ordered new plugs from ECS and opted to spend the extra for the OEM plugs as opposed to the NGK plugs.
I open the box today, and pull one plug from the packaging and it's a BMW marked NGK! I called angry that I paid much more for the same exact plug, even after asking if they were different, and he informed me that these plugs are the same as the N52, and that BMW switched from Bosch to NGK over 6 years ago and "haven't used Bosch for a long time." Now nowhere else I read supports this. They sent- BMW stock number: 12 12 0 037 663 Part: LZFR6AP11GS Again this is for an N55 car. What are these plugs?? |

03 Spark plug, High Power BOSCH ZR5TPP33S 6 12120037582 Now, that plug has no price on the diagram, but it is not marked as superseded. If you really care, it's available for 11$ from Amazon. The plug you have received is marked as a N52 part. OEM plug for early N52 where also Bosh and were superseded by the NGK you received (so that may be the source of the story you were told). WhiteNYMsport sorry about the response of my rep. You have a PM from me requesting information.
As for the plugs as Alarbus stated 12120037663 is the most up to date part for your N55. -James |
