I would get others if I had the choice again, the locking mechanism is fiddly and doesn't overwhelm me with confidence. The cradles are also a bit akward, they're not flat, and they're not really cupped... they just mangle the plastic jacking points and don't sit entirely flat on any cross member beams.

They are safe though - but then all jack stands should be, at the very minimum.
If that's the case, I will stay away with it and see what else are available at SCA

What sort of jacks are you people using to properly jack the car up at the center point?

My car isn't lowered (doesn't even have M-sport option, so basically looks like a plain poverty spec 320i from the outside), but even then none of the basic SCA/Repco jacks could reach behind the center point properly and still have enough gap/clearance to operate the handle, unless I start ripping out all the plastic bottom covers off one by one.

One auto store did stock an extra long low profie jack that looks like it might reach and still leave the handle outside the car to operate but that motherfucker is over $600 (& rated for over 3 tonnes...)

At the moment I'm just doing the dodgy and using 2 cheapo jacks each side (with 2 jack stands next to them incase if they fail) for oil changes...

For safety purpose, if I use ramps, does it matter if its width is only 210mm while my tyres are 230mm or even 255mm?

Hello, just suddenly thought of this..

can I use a scissor jack to jack the car up and then put the jack stand?
feel like much more easier to lift the car up like this.
thoughts?

Yes, you can use whatever to lift the car.

Just make sure that you do not get underneath the car until it is fully supported by the appropriate jack stands.

shipping from US is very expensive.
buying small stuff is fine, buying bulky equipment like the jack stand, hydraulic jack doesn't seem economical.

Arcan hydraulic jack is only around $190 AUD shipped.
