That is a bit much, I thought the prices had dropped after the LCI update ? It must come with all options I suppose ?

That one definitely has a N55, good block, relatively problem free

Love the RS , still miss my tuned ST, was a lot less headaches with that and running costs were way better, nowhere near the build quality of the 335 though.

That isn't a bad offer at all.

I had a 125d for 18 months and the combined use of an M135i as a company pool (sp) car at the same time. The 125d was mine for every day commuting and the M135i did about 3000 miles going to meetings mainly. They are obviously exactly the same car with a different engine. Despite all the claimed M development in the M135i suspension it felt identical to my 125d and possibly even more so suffered from a weird dislike for uneven B roads. Steering was also utterly awful in both of them. Probably the numbest i've ever experienced in any car.

The engine is the big selling point for the M135i. It;s a fantastic engine but it is pretty characterless despite the whole "but it's a straight 6" argument you constantly see on the likes of pistonheads. The M performance exhaust seems to be a must for them as the car does sound pretty muffled from inside without it (hence the need for the sound thingy).

Long terms the cars seem to be proving absolutely faultlessly reliable. I still hang about babybmw forum and hardly ever see owners with faults.

Price wise, it's probably different in Northern Ireland regarding prices but £22k for a 2013 with 14k doesn't sound great unless it's loaded with options. They have held their value really well, especially when you consider consider that you can get around about a 20% discount on a new one (lightly optioned people pay about £28k new).

It might be worth checking the for sale section on babybmw as people do seem to sell them on. General consensus is that it's more like a mini GT car than a hot hatch and i think that disappoints quite a few. People also seem to be seduced by the initial pace of the thing but once they get used to that realise it's not really what they expected, Evo rated it 5th out of 5 cars in this months back to back test which also included the new type R so may be worth a read for more ideas.

The M135i is far from dull ... it is so capable it can seem dull but having driven two it just does what it does to well it can seem tame even though very quick.

The 8 speed auto box is superb but a few seem to have whines in 2nd it seems. A few gearbox failures but that box is used in many models and seems generally good.

The engine is far more reliable than the N54 but uses a lot of ancillary parts that were on the later N54 models (thus the late N54 engined cars seem a lot more reliable). The HPFP is apparently the same ... and that was a nightmare on early N54's.

I am pretty sure I will get one when I get rid of my Z4. I really like the looks of the LCI. In the flesh it is far better than the original IMO even if it does look a bit Toyota Auris !

Its not dull but there is some truth in that first quote.

I quite like the fact its a wolf in sheeps clothing, it basically looks like any other 1 series M Sport. I prefer to fly under the radar but look smart at the same time

Well she should be picking it up tonight. Was hoping to get it on Friday but I asked them to change the tyres on the front of it and they had none until today.
