Focal BMW speaker & Sub upgrade
Hi
An alternative to BMW retrofit Alpine System for our E9X http://www.focalaustralia.com.au/sho...mpact-sub-379/ http://www.focalaustralia.com.au/shop/1560/ Looks interesting and reasonably priced too if you are looking for an audio upgrade! |

I've googled a bit more about it last night and read mixed reviews. Apparently they sound worst than OEM speakers?!
I'm keen to get the sub though! |

I've looked into too... nice speaker kit for the money but from my research, to get the best out of them you need to upgrade the crappy OEM amp and/or head unit. It is on my mod list to do. If you can wait a little while, Im aiming to do the install in Oct/Nov and can report back

I haven't heard them but I seriously doubt that Focal make any speakers that sound worse than OEM. If anything it is the OEM amplifier not sufficiently powering the Focal speakers to allow them to perform at their optimal range. |

Well that is some review.
He put out one sentence of nothingness, and didn't explain anything. He doesn't have a suitable amplifier powering the speakers, and I doubt he has let them break in before judging them. Every speaker I've installed sounds shit for the first week of use. Until the speaker diaphragm/suspension has settled in, they will sound harsh and brittle, and lack any deeper frequency response. |
