E90 lci Halo eye bulb change help!
Been following a few guides on forums and YouTube but when I get to the part of removing the bulb my car differs. I've removed two t15 screws but I'm stuck as to get out the bulb. This is what I've got below. When I try to pull the bulb unit out it seems the whole ring is attached and I'm a bit fiert I snap something.
Thanks in advance for any help |

Never mind, managed to figure it out. Slight twist and off they came. Made a bit of a strange noise. Anyway the set of led bulbs I have don't fit so my efforts were all in vain!

No need to remove wheel arch liners either. Do from top. Just remove air box. No need to remove anything from old bulb. Need a new guide on here really

e90 lci halogen angel eyes install!
sorry for the bad photos but its wet and dark! park the car, turn off the lights and remove ignition key. open the bonnet. near side: flick the metal bar and remove the cover. it has tabs at the bottom. disconnect the angel eye electrical connector. remove the two torx screws. twist the old angel eye off (anti clockwise if you are facing forward as if driving car forward). a dribble of wd40 or similar where the angel eyes joins the light ring will aid this (picture shows drivers side which twists off clockwise). position the new angel eye and secure with two screws - it doesnt twist on. no need to use massive long screws that come with new angel eyes - i used the oe screws just fine. connect the electrical connector install the cover - you may need to force the wheel arch liner down with one hand while you squeeze in the cover at its a tight fit past the angel eye housing. flick the metal bar to secure the cover. off side: some might say this is a repeat of the near side - if you have tiny hands! i found it much easier to remove the air box. Remove the three torx screws securing the air intake resonator. remove the resonator. unclip the top half of the air box - three metal tabs and one pastic tab. release the jubilee clip securing the intake pipe. back it right off! release the intake pipe from the air box - a little wd40 or similar around the join will make it come off much easier. use a screwdriver very carefully to split if it is sticky. no need to disconnect maf - just move the top half of the air box to the right side. remove the 2 bolts securing the lower half of the air box. remove the lower half of the air box. it all lifts out really easy. repeat the steps for the passenger side (old angel eye twists of clockwise). Re assemble air box. Last edited by dj219957; 01-30-2014 at 04:41 PM.. |

Just changed my bulbs from the top this time instead of through the arch, much easier. Didn't realise how easy it is to remove airbox (mine is different from pic above). Will take a wee picture later once it's dark. Cheers again!
