I plan on:

JB4 (since i know very little about MHD and like the features of JB4, but doesn't mean I'm not open to considering MHD tunes)
FMIC
Downpipes
Charge pipe
BOV (HKS or Tial)
PE mod to exhaust (with x pipe)
DCI or aFE intake
LSD (Qualife or Wavetrac)
Transmission flash (I have an auto trans)
VTT or MMD inlets

In the long run, upgrade turbos to RB's.

Probably forgetting some others.

Definitely start with a tune. JB4 is plug and play w/ cool features, but MHD or Cobb will get you better gains in the end with a custom tune.

Then you might want to upgrade the chargepipe before it blows apart on you.

Then downpipes.

Take a driving class first. Then get MHD, FMIC, DP's, DCI and CP.

Anyone found the nicest performance mods for the e90? I got a 09 335i 6 speed with Xdrive and I want more horsepower. Was gonna do bms dual come intake, with vrsf catless downpipes and bmw performance exhaust. Was thinking about the jb4 software upgrade or cobb tuning but I don't know. Anyone have good or bad feed back about these two and maybe a comparison?
Anything helps I need ideas!
Thanks guys
JB4 + DCI + Downpipes is a great starting point.. I would follow that with and FMIC and Charge pipe upgrade shortly after.

Don't waist your time with JB4 or COBB. Just get MHD and flash your car. You'll be happy, your car will be smooth and fast, and your bank account will be happier also.
What is MHD?

Many mods depend on other mods so it depends on what all you are doing and in what timeframe... for example, if you know you want downpipes soon, then skip the DCI kits and go straight for the way more efficient Inlets. The reason is that when you are doing the DP's, its easy to do the inlets. doing them separately, causes alot of the same work to be done over again. Also, if you are going to want an e40 (or higher) tune, you need a Fuel-it stg 2 pump. for any tune you need a charge pipe, even if keeping stock diverter valves (because the stock one will break/blow off with a good tune), and then get a decent intercooler. I recommend the VRSF for DP.s and IC. MHD for the tune...... Unless you want the Procede Open Flash Tablet and I'll sell you one cheap since I've switched to MHD.
since you are AWD, you won't need to worry about an LSD. and I can't remember if you are Auto or not, but if so, get the Alpina Flash for quicker shifts on your tranny.

I ended up in a similar spot, but the order in which I did the upgrades was:

* Cobb Access Port (installed new plugs and coils @ same time)
* Cobb Drop-In Filter
* ER Charge Pipe and Forge Diverters
* ETS FMIC
* Pro-tune
* Down Pipes
* Aplina Transmission Flash

It seems to me that power comes from Cobb, DownPipes and Pro-Tune. Everything else keeps the car stable and performing as it should.

In my case I also did vacuum lines and boost solenoids to chase away a 30FF code...

Now I'm looking at exhaust.
