hi guys,

i'm contemplating purchasing some koni yellows and possibly also some springs for my 335i. i'm worried about too much of a drop with springs as this is my daily.

i'm currently riding on stock suspension (non-msport) with 100k km on the clock. reason for wanting to change to koni yellow is because i don't feel that my car handles well - too much lean in corners (most times bottoms out!), not enough control over undulations in the road (car continues to oscillate too much for my liking), not a 'taut' enough feeling over bumps and cracks (feels like the whole chassis rattles).

if anybody in sydney with a 335i and koni yellows is willing to take me for a drive to demonstrate how they feel it would be very much appreciated.

Hey dude, Im in Melb so cant take you for a spin but I'm running koni yellows and H&R sports springs as a daily driver

The drop is pretty low but I don't have any problems with clearance since ditching the OEM shocks and putting in the Konis

Occasionally I need to crawl out of car park with really steep angle between the driveway and road but for 99% of the time, no problems at all

Drop is nice, car feels planted because it is sitting lower and the ride beautiful and smooth with very little roll when cornering

Also with no wheel arch gaps it just looks better lol

Yep Heath, just the cheapie overcovers from one of the local autoparts suppliers (wink), I think they were about $140 when I brought them.
The replacement mirror covers in CF will set you back a lot more than that
Fit and finish are ok for the money. If I could afford it I would get the genuine replacement covers but they are super pricey

I run the Koni yellows on Eibach Prokit springs. As you can see from my pic, the springs are not quite as low as the H&R sports that Socket runs on his but matched with the Konis, they offer a smooth and controlled ride. The choice of springs comes down to personal preference and availability. Either way, the yellows are a top choice if you choose to stay away from a coil-over setup. Hopefully you find a willing Sydney-sider as I am in Canberra and can't help either!

Eibach pro kit are progressive springs. They are more comfortable on daily driving as the initial spring rate is softer for small road bumps/noise.

H&R race are linear spring rates, they are more predictable through out suspension travel and therefore are said to have slightly better handling at the limit.

Both will serve you well, and both are I demand so you can resell them if you don't like them.
