Upgrade Depo P90's with LED Angel Eyes for $30
First of all, many thanks are owed to Justin (aka The_DDub) who did this upgrade first, answered all of my questions, and pointed me in the direction of which LEDs to buy.
I used these LEDs: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=110430624609 The color temp is supposedly 6500K, but they seem to be an almost perfect color match with my 4350K low beams. You'll need 16 of them (4 per ring), but ordering spares probably wouldn't hurt. The seller (LEDWholesalers) will auto-accept any offer above $1.75/bulb, FYI, so be sure to use the "best offer" option rather than buy it now. Unfortunately, for those of you who already have the P90's installed, you'll have to remove the bumper and the projectors to get these installed. After you do that, simply swap out the old bulbs for the new LEDs (4 per ring). Once you've swapped the bulbs, it is an absolute PITA to get the bulb socket back into the holes on the ring(s), first because they are hard to reach, second because they pop out very easily. Justin suggested I use some double-sided tape (a small piece wrapped around each socket) to keep them in there, which seemed to work pretty well. Also be sure to test the LEDs as you place them in the sockets and before you put them back in the ring. If one doesn't light up, reverse the polarity. I also used a tool very similar to this to see what I was doing (has a built-in light) and to grab and insert the sockets back into the rings once I had inserted the new LED bulbs. I paid about $10 at Home Depot for this and it definitely made replacing the bulbs much smoother. Below are the results, sorry for the crappy pics. They obviously are still nowhere near the quality of OEM or some of the full LED rings, but for the $420 + $30 I spent to upgrade to these from my halogens, I can't complain. They look to have a bluish tint in the pics, but are totally white in person. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

However the rings that come built into the Depo P90s only have 4 individual bulbs illuminating each ring. I spent $30 to swap the halogen bulbs that came pre-installed in the rings to LEDs. |

http://www.ledwholesalers.com/store/...&productId=338 is a link...you think the 3500k will no look as blue and maybe white or go with op's opinion and get 6000k which i know has a blue tint. Depo have a blue tint halo ring anyways, so what do you guys think?

But I'm replacing the halogen bulbs for LED in my P90 Depo and I looked at the LED on the LEDWholesale link above and the LED look rather large compared to wedge bulb?? How is the fitment for the LED with the rings installed?? Plenty of room?? Everything goes back together with no modifications?? |

Take off your bumper, remove headlights and brackets. Open the back cover of the headlights, unplug each of the 4 bulbs from each ring, and pull the wire that contains all 8 of your angel bulbs. You can unhook the wire if it makes it easier for you, pull out the bulbs and replace it with the LEDs and put it back in the socket. No modification required. Just make sure you buy rounded T5 mini wedge LED bulbs. There are thousands of places that sell these bulbs, and some of them look different. Just make sure its rounded and it says T5 mini wedge. You cant go wrong PM me if you have further questions, i'd be glad to help. EDIT http://www.ebay.com/itm/10x-1-LED-74...#ht_3287wt_956 |
