UDE

Anyone else done the ultimate driving experience ? I did today. 2 hours learning and auto-xing 328d/428 then 2 more in the X428. I got podium on the time trials in the 3/4 round, but just couldn't wrap my body around the xdrive. When I figure out how I will post MY commercials

I did last October and a few months ago. Great experience and now I'm hooked. Back in October I was 5th in my group but wound up 1st last time.

I've done 2 of them, one last year with 228i and one earlier this year with 328d/428GC. IMO the amount of driving and free professional instruction you get makes up for the fact that you're essentially enduring a sales pitch for several hours. Definitely worth attending.

I did the one at FedEx Field. I did two other UDEs a few years ago. My mistake was taking my wife with me. I knew I was in for it when she was constantly asking how long the event was going to be and if we can leave early. Had I known she would be such a drag, I would have either gone by myself or opted not to go at all.

Despite the wife being a boat anchor, I was able to impress my instructor. During one of the runs when we were staging up at the starting line, he asked if I had played around on the track before. I said on motorcycles. He said it was pretty obvious. Before the timed run, he said this was mine to lose as he mentioned I was the fastest guy he's seen all day. Of course I screwed up one of the corners going in too hot. Had to scrub off some speed which slowed me down. I came in second with just less than 1 second separating my time with the first place winner who also set the track record for the day. I found it funny on one of my practice runs I had to slow down because I was catching up to the car on track before my turn to go.

In reference to the cars, I liked the 428i much more than the 328d I had to use to do my timed run. I felt I was way faster in the 428i.

Haha, close. I was driving through Yellowstone yesterday and I saw a wonder never seen before. An America ran.

Keep that hair soft and shiny Wade!

The instructors couldn't tell me why BMW would have a car sound so bad. My favorite car of the day was the M235 xdrive. Wow! Can't wait to try the M2.
