Audio upgrade question

I've read multiple threads on here researching this subject. I have the base audio system and It's beyond a let down. I've purchased CDT Audio speakers for the back, rainbow tweeters and speakers up front, and Kicker SS MB8 under seat subs as well as the wiring harness. I'm waiting for my JL XD 600/6 amp to arrive. So I think I've got anything, or am I missing something? I've read about processors do I really need one. Also, I torn between upgrading my head unit. I've read the OEM has to stay in the car in order for BMW to run diagnostic on the car. Is this true, I think I read where some people moved the OEM unit to the trunk? What else am I missing? Or would just having my Base unit reprogramed to the HIFI settings be a better choice?

FYI

FYI
Yep the original head unit must be installed for diagnostics
and software updates from BMW.
There can also be error indicators from SOS and PDC will
be a problem when the OEM head unit is disconnected.
You need away to flatten the frequency curve from the stock
head unit if its set to stereo .
Jl cleansweep , reprogramming to Hi Fi , processors or Technic
suggests you set the door crossovers for - value.

It only BMW that require you to have the original unit for diagnostics. Private garage who does software updates says they it didnt matter if I removed it . On the safe side you could see there any updates required before you install your kit. As the E90 are getting on a bit there will be little to no updates available. Diagnostic wise all the usual Ediabas Inpa DIS SSS work fine without it. The only thing you might need it for is the reverse sounds . But my Zenec 3215 head unit has a canbus for this so I didnt need to relocate radio to back .
