Jl Audio HD-RLC remote bass control knob

I have the Jl Audio HD-RLC remote bass control knob to control my JL audio xd600/1v2 amp and my question is where should I put the input sensitivity / gain at now that I am using the control knob up front ?

the knob only attenuates the gain setting. so you would put the knob to max and then set your gain to max right before distortion.
