330d DPF service interval (not warning light)
my service light has come on for the dpf (note not the warning light). its been counting down for a few thousand miles and the light is now red.
my car has 145k so I think its about due. at about 120k I has it cleaned as the warning light came on, about 2 months ago I had all the engine stats changed under warranty (egr, both thermastats). i'm fearing the worst that it now really does need to be changed, my question is though can I get it checked (emissions and back pressure test I have been led to believe) and if they are ok get the service light reset? my car is a 56 plate 330d se so it aint worth allot, really don't want to pay 1.4k for a new dpf. I would also say I have full bmw warranty and would like to keep it as I've had abot 5k of warranty work done on the car in 2 years! cheers

i really need to keep my warranty given its mileage, its either that or sell my car (which will now be worth nothing).
does anybody know if the service light can be re-set?

I bought a brand new genuine DPF from Germany for £700 inc delivery for my E91 320d.
I replaced mine at 145k miles. It seemed to be ok, but it did have an 'excessive clogging' fault code or whatever which disappeared after a forced regen. DPFs don't last forever and it will eventually need to be replaced. I used DIS to reset the adaptations for the DPF - basically telling it that you've fitted a new one. A DPF delete isn't road legal and I didn't bother to check if my insurance would be valid or not so I went with a genuine replacement.

nor did i, my car went into bmw yesterday for more warranty work and they said the service light was for dpf, i thought it was for my micro filter! i get the car back today so i'll have to double check my self
just to clarify, there are no warning errors, its just a service light
