Forge or Turbosmart DV,s ?
After some good advice from members I'm about to purchase a set of New DV,s tossing up between the forge and the Turbosmart.
At the moment I'm leaning towards the turbo smart because you can choose to run to atmosphere or recirculate or 50/50 I believe. They are both around 500 local so price plays no part Keen to hear people's experience and advice Thanks Dyll |

Turbosmart every day of the week.
Also, they are local so can sort out with warranty etc if anything fails. |

I am running the Turbosmart Kompact Plumbback DVs (the ones without the trumpets). Very happy with them and actually you can still hear the blow off sound, its very subtle and quiet but its there. Don't need to stuff around with spring selection as well like the Forge ones.

I got my DVs brand new off ebay a few weeks back for $430, seemed like the cheapest you could get the dual port trumpet type was around $500 so yeah thats probably what they're worth currently.

I've got the forge valves and they are well built.
I don't understand the "dual purpose" of vent to atmosphere and recirculate. If you disconnect the hose, it's venting to atmosphere... |

I got forge DVs (bought it together with my ER chargepipe). No complains so far, but does anyone know how to actually open those sucks up to clean them?
Youtube has a video but it was using a different kind with a screw on cap.

Yes they twist open just like that video.
It is very hard to get them open if you have even the slightest grease on your hands. Try some rubber gloves. Edit: you should have opened them before installing, as they need a racier spring for our cars. |

That's why the dual ports have an adjustable cap. |

I recently bought the turbosmart plumb back dvs and I'm very happy with them too. I didn't want a vent to atmosphere sound so went with the plumb back only option. I chose them over forge dvs because I saw so many people having problems with them 'sticking' and causing boost issues. They also have oem fit into the standard chargepipe if you're keeping it for now. I would only buy the dual port if you are after sound and plan on running them to vent.

The forge DV has a replaceable spring so it can be adjusted. |

Do they both use the same size connectors?
As in you can swap Forge DVs to Turbo smart ones on the same charge pipe and vise versa?
