All other things being equal, FWD, but I'd rather have RWD with snow tires and DSC than FWD without either.

Front wheel drive is considered better than rwd because the "weight" of the engine is over the wheels doing the steering. If the front wheels slip, the car will usually stay in line. With rear wheel drive, the pushing rear wheels slip and the back end of the car starts to swing.

no car is best for the snow cause u need chain on the tire to move . otherwise, you will slip and get in car accident

Neither, have owned both and wasn't want another. Any FWD is good as long as it has DSC and ABS but always with thinner tyres which is a must in all cases.

thinner tyres? Are you kidding me?

The bigger tyres the better, big ol winter tyres, 4" thick (diameter wise) are the best. My Civic was a snow champ!

When I mean thinner tyres I mean ones which are less than 205 wide, any wider and it doesn't cut through the snow the same and sits more on the surface, a bit like snow shoes which Eskimos use.

Unless you are talking about snow tyres of which I have no experience of, my comments were regarding normal summer tyres.

I see. I thought you meant low profile when you said thin

I would not recommend summer tires on snow at all...

Actually the best fwd car for the snow is an Audi A3 Quattro or similar VAG product as their AWD setup is primarily fwd until their front wheels start to slip.
