Very impressive. Every body panel must be carbon. I wonder where else they managed to remove the weight.

Not just the panels are CF. Under panel bracing and crash bars too from what the article said.

These cars are hardly strippers. More like siloutteracers.
Almost everything under the (carbon) bodywork (everything mechanical) is different. Looking at the previous z4 gt3, I think everything was different, so completely different suspension arms, subframes, even the steel monocoque they begin with is completely different. So these cars have nothing in common with their roadgoing counterparts, except that they somewhat look like them.

Why the camouflage?
I wonder if any of our American friends are going to get it, put on bigger wheels and try to lower it. That seems to be the thing to do. No car can have too much power or be too low to the ground.

i see what you did there!
i wish a GT3/GT3 RS type car was offered by BMW. the competition package is insufficient imho, and the gts concept is kinda ugly.
