I just installed some "whiter" halogen foglight bulbs. To do this, I had to remove the inner wheel liner. Low and behold there was the housing for the angel eye bulb in plain sight and easy reach lol. If I would have known this, I would have removed the wheel liner to gain easy access to the angel eye bulb.
The added work of removing the wheel and wheel liner would have been worth it, probably reducing installation time and definitely reducing frustration
If I remember right, I "accidentally" removed the wheel liner to get at the angel eye and found it was no help, its pretty much just for fog access.

On the drivers side, with the liner removed I had direct access to the screw cover for the angel eye. This was the same for the passenger side. Maybe you weren't looking in the right spot for the cover

Come to think of it, I think there is an access panel in the liner, and I may have just removed the access panel not the whole liner.

Installed DTEC v10 128w H8 LED angel light bulbs from E92-Lighting along with their complete interior LED kit. There is a in depth review on this forum for the exact same version of the angel eyes, so I am not going to repeat it:

Overall, I am happy with the purchase, the inner circles are very bright, the outer are not, and in my understanding there is not much that can be done to improve the brightness of the outer circles due to the limitation of the housing design. Some hints: the smaller your fingers the better also, remove the tab inside the housing holding the wires that connect to angel eyes H8 bulb, it will be much easier to maneuver the bulky LED bulb inside the housing. The job is definitely doable, just takes a while due to the cramped space.

128 watts, which I believe is just a power rating equivalent, as the LED resistors are rated at 10 watts output and that's how much they actually draw.
