325xi E90, bad motor. Options?

06 325xi E90, shredded belt took out the timing chain. What would you guys do? Similar story: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=883641&page=2

Has ~80,000 miles on the thing, and body is in decent shape.
Options are looking like:
- posting it on CL, at less than the fair KBB of $8000.
- trying to find a low mileage motor and swapping in to make up to the full value? (doesn't make much sense to me as I don't have a garage to do the swap)

Not looking to keep the car, or gut it to a track beast unfortunately.
