Aftermarket hoods and heat shields

OEMs use heat shields to protect the paint on the hood; have any of you experienced problems with finish when using an aftermarket hood? Is anyone using an aftermarket heat shield like this: http://www.andysautosport.com/produc...d__180020.html ?

I have the Duke dynamics d2 hood and I don't use a heat shield. No problems at all. The new BMW models don't have them anymore either.
