need some android double din options..

Are there any affordable/reputable double dins out there that run an updated version of Android? Besides upgrading the head unit itself for the obvious reasons (i.e. Bluetooth, backup camera, nav, screen, etc), I think it'd be super handy to be able to load up jb4, carly, and mhd right there without the use of any devices.

So far I've found things such as

http://www.droid-life.com/2015/03/24...m-700-to-1400/

And http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...846228&alt=web

Also while on topic, it's my understanding that http://mybimmer.net/ is the only bezel that truly just works, as if it were oem.. I've tossed around several issues and solutions to those issues but I ultimately dislike that the din is on bottom.. Any options there? I dislike how I delete my front cig lighter in exchange for seats warmers when the center console one is useless.. The solution, euro cig lighters in the back. Or if you don't have the descent control, UNLIKE me, you could get the newer hvac control with built in seat controls (don't quote me on this). :

I already have a note 4, tab s, and laptop so lets try to stay on topic. Let's see what else everyone has seen /used. Have a good day everyone.

There is the Dynavin android unit. Im not a fan of android so its not my cup of tea.
http://www.dynavinstore.com/Producti...99android.html

I didn't like any of the "plug and play" headunits so I got an Alpine s920hd about 3 years ago. I used the connects2 harness and metra dash kit. I got the newer climate control for the heated seats because that is the cleanest option and it is plug and play. I can change the color of the screen on my headunit, the red color matched the factory amber lighting good enough. Last year I got a customized instrument cluster and had all my interior leds customized to match. I attached a picture so you can see how the headunit and climate control came out.

I am happy with the headunit it has always worked perfectly with my iphone 6 and has good sound quality. The gps works better than the garmin or other gps I have used. The connects2 harness works perfectly get that if you are installing an aftermarket headunit(the dynavin doesnt need a harness). The metra kit isnt a perfect fit it sticks out at the bottom. The kit you linked to is supposed to be a better fit but I would rather have the headunit on top even if the metra kit sticks out a little bit at the bottom. I started modifying a metra kit to make it fit better but I haven't finished working on that.

Also what sound system do you have? If you have logic 7 you will need to replace the amp. I had logic 7 but I had already replaced the audio system with aftermarket equipment.

Hmm, thanks for the link. The Dynavin really does have a ton of features, as well as being able to run android AND Windows.. I checked out Dynavin before but never came across the price of the unit, further digging reveals the cost at 599£..thats a whopping 908 usd, yikes, maybe some day. Worst part is.. It's pretty much everything I want minus the price tag lol.

Also, thanks for the reference pic. Unit looks good and the hvac unit looks good as well.. the diff colors on each switch is kinda throwing me off, tho. What would I do with my descent control button? I can't say that I really use it, but I'll be damned if I can't the one time I'd want to ha.

I also read somewhere that a bezel being used wouldn't sit flush cus the fabric on the hole for whatever fastener the bezel uses to hold on to the rest of the dash was too thick.. His solution was to just cut that fabric off lol. Kind of hard to explain without a picture and I can't remember which thread or bezel this was.

The dynavin android units were discontinued years ago. I would not consider it an option.

Dynavin makes some really good stuff now days but its not android based.

The switch colors were changed. The defrost and heated seat buttons light up red, the ac buttons light up blue, and everything else lights up white. You normally dont see red and blue on at the same time . Stock they are all amber and the heated seat lights are green().

I didn't realize the android dynavin was discontinued already. It wasn't long ago I remember it coming out. You might want to check this out it is another option

You need a new calander! The Dynavin android units were the first ones in existence as far as I know....they came out in 2010.... And we stopped carrying them a couple years ago.

OP, you need to do your homework on this so that you better understand the differences between a full android based stereo and an android compatible stereo. The pioneer units you both referenced are "android auto" capable head units, they DO NOT run on android. They have an android interface that is paired with your phone.

The parrot asteroid smart and Avin double din are the only reputable android based double din. The parrot has some limitations though so I don't know if it will do what you want.

it still doesn't seem like it was that long ago but I guess I'm a little out of date. Lol

The android auto units dont have android apps. They sync with your phone and the apps are through your phone. There isnt a stand alone Android OS on the unit, and you are only able to use a few of the apps on your phone and only the ones Pioneer decided are beneficial.

The other unit you linked off ebay is a full blown Android OS Unit, but if it actually works like it should is another question. It is a cheap chinese knockoff unit, and those are hit and miss. No different than buying one of those cheap chinese android tablets/phones that sometimes work, and most times dont do what you want them to.

If you are wanting something to use iCarly, JB4, MHD... an Android Tablet and mount is your best bet.

I comoletely understand the "if it works as it should" part.. So is there a high end version of this eBay knock off yet or no? Currently I do use my phone for everything since it's basically the perfect size. Seen here https://instagram.com/p/8NvG2VxebN/. I really wish the Bluetooth adapter for the jb4 wasn't so pricey.

I'll do a little more research before pulling the trigger..

This guy has android 4.4 and uses torque pro in the video

This guy uses power amp (Music player) which I'm familiar with but switched to blackplayer ex, and also he uses es Explorer which I use to this day

Link to avin is in his description or here for 399 https://avinusa.com/avin-universal-a...on-system.html
