Improved 1/4 mile time

Went to the Test N Tune @ Willowbank on Friday night and completed 3 runs. It wasn't the best night for street cars as there was a heap of drag cars running which got preference over the street cars. This resulted in long waits between runs. My best for the night was my last run 11.74s @119.7mph with a 60' time of 1.825s. This was 0.05s improvement over my previous best. Best speed was 121mph. I data logged my first run which was a 11.84s and included the HPFP, LPFP and torque in the log. I have attached the data log below. The yellow shaded area is the burnout while the green is the actual run. The data log raised some interesting results. Firstly, I am surprised by the fluctuations in the LPFP pressures. Mid 60s to 81 psi. I thought it would have maintained around the 72psi area. The LPFP is a Stage 2 Fuel-it and I am running E30 fuel mix. I would be interested in what other people have experienced. The HPFP dropped down into the 1600s for a split second during the run. I don't know whether the HPFP could handle an E50 blend. Torque was up to 835Nm which was good. I need to get my 60' times down to 1.7s and that would get me close to the 11.5s. A custom tune to increase the boost a couple of psi would also make a difference. All in all, I am still happy with the progress.

Nice runs.

Are you fbo 6AT with RBs? Also are you running a Cobb PTF tune?

Yes, I am FBO 6AT with RB turbos. I am currently using the generic Cobb E30 tune.

Hows the timing corrections on this map?

I want to try some E85 this week before a clutch install.

I contacted Wedge yesterday but buraq hasn't sent a base map yet.

i went from my cobb st2 map to the wedge base map from buraq and was totally blown away with the pull. I sent my logs and the car was running perfect with 0 timing corrections and fuel trims in order. My intention was to go e30/40 as i already installed my fuel it stage 2 but now am just going to enjoy the added pull this pump 98 map provides.

Below is a plot of my boost curve 3rd gear pull

Not sure how the timing corrections are on the generic Cobb E30 map as I haven't data logged them as yet. A custom map from Wedge would certainly produce better results. It was my first trial with ethanol so I used the generic Cobb map that is free. It has given me a 0.4s improvement over the quarter plus a couple of MPH. I would like to try an e50 blend and get a custom tune from Wedge to suit.

Nice one coupes.. Your HPFP figures are fairly similar to mine, you dont want to dip to much below 1500-1350psi, 1200psi is really close to maxing the pump out. E40/E45 should be ok, but will be close to max.
I also use a bit of 110 octane race fuel on race days just to keep the octane up to the map that your running (you more than likely will need to do the same for an E50 map).

Get an E50 map in there asap, theres nothing holding you back at this point! Take a log and give us a look to see how it is handling it!
Need to see timing corrections on the log also to see if your getting enough octane

Heath. Do you get pressure fluctuations with your LPFP? I was surprised that the Stage 2 Fuel-it pump dropped so low. I would have thought it would have maintained a more constant pressure than the OEM pump being of larger capacity.

Its completely normal mate, mine does the same thing! You will not have any issues with you LPFP

Heath. There were 2 BMW 135s also racing on Friday night. One (Space Grey) was pulling 12.6s and the other (black in colour) had a best of 13.6s @ 122mph when I spoke to him. The black 135 was FBO with a single Garrett turbo and methanol. Apparently, it puts out 570whp. He was mucking around with the boost in the lower gears trying to get it to launch off the line. With the boost and torque not coming in until 3,500rpm, the 60' time was 2.5s.

Far out, he can't drive for shit lol. I have a feeling i know which workshop that car may have come from!
So the big question is, where are you going E85! There's nothing stopping you, its some more free power!

I have a couple of extra mods to complete before I up the percentage of ethanol and get a custom tune. I have VTT inlets coming and I am getting some mods carried out to the exhaust.
