Question on V2 green loom
First off, what is the difference in the two green looms? It seems strange that we replace one green loom with another when we're intercepting the same wire in the ECU connector? The looms exactly the same, it's just that the newer one is longer and has the red part on it? I'm just curious.
Second, I see that some of you are using the old green loom to do the speed limiter defeat. I was gonna do this as well but I was worried since we don't have the little patch cables for the bypass plugs. Would we throw a code if we did the speed limiter defeat and then also used the bypass plugs? Seems like we'd have an open connection. Just looking for some clarification. I'll definitely put in the speed sensor wire once we need it for V2.03 but for now I can wait. Don't need to go over 155 again now that I'm back in the US |

Yes you will throw a code if you do the speed wires without extra wires in the bypass plugs. I think the newer V2s were sent out with wires for that though :/.
The new green loom has some sort of resistor in it.

Well at least now we know why they are different, that makes sense. I don't think any V2s were sent out with extra wires for bypass plugs because I got mine last week and I only had the 2 that were needed for the standard V2.

I wish we could just make them easily but I'm guessing they have to be crimped by somebody that knows what they are doing. Just don't want to have to pay $8 shipping and wait 3 months to get 1 stupid wire from Vishnu. Just kidding Shiv

Haltech sells them for sure, as for the crimping your talking about striping a wire putting it in a hole and squeezing some pliers. Not rocket science.

The new green loom has a lower gauge (thicker) wire. At least mine did. Side by side they were obviously different (other than the red sleeve...)

Probably not publically, duh!!! You probably wouldn't get much support from Vishnu if you were using a bootleg harness! I sure wouldn't help you out if I was Vishnu and you bought a bootleg harness. You'd be on your own my Brother!!! I would save yourself the trouble and just get your harness the legitimate way!
Seriously, the support is getting better and you want to be in the club the legit way! |

He's talking about the bypass wires that were not included with the v2 kits for whatever reason.

Ok I don't read every speed delimited thread because I think it's retarded to worrry about going over 155 in the USA, but I don't recall anyone else having an issue with this. Is this a problem in search of a solution or do you guys actually have an issue with a code being thrown or something?

yeah you're right I certainly wouldn't want to step on Shiv's toes.
I would only ask for a third party to help manufacture these bypass plug wires, because I would imagine that Shiv just wouldn't want to start making these. EVERYONE would insist on a back dated set and it would be another manufacturing nightmare for Vishnu ! SJ |
