1727 code
Anyone have a clue what this code means? Its not in the booklet that comes with the reader. I believe I have a white loom continuity issue with my procede V2 that triggers the 335 error code and the 1727 code. When starting the car with the engine already warm, I get long cranks and the cells come on. With bypass plugs, I have no issues... So it must be a wire or pin continuity problem somewhere I think. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this code.

I suspecting the white loom. But its strange that when I plug in the bypass, it's fine. So I decided to perform a little experiment and remove the pins on the actual bypass plug that would connect the white loom together. I start the car with the modified bypass plugs and lo and behold, I get the same 335 and 1727 codes and long cranks. I reverted the bypass plugs back to normal and now the car starts with no issues or codes.

I repeated the test two more times. Same result everytime. I'm not getting consistent continuity between the harness and the procede computer. When warm, I lose continuity every now and then. When cold, It starts everytime.
I wonder if I should bend the pins outwards slightly on the procede ecu to ensure better connection to the harness connectors. I'll wait for further instructions from Vishu. In the meantime, car works fine with bypass plugs. |

That is very strange....You have isolated it to the white loom and from what your describing it most likely loss of continuity, but so strange it only happens when motor is hot, I guess wires heated expands, but in the ecu box, its cooled by a fan!

I just remembered that the bypass plugs don't account for continuity to ground or power input. So I tried removing the ground entirely. Started the car and got the 1727, 335 and + 236 code. This means both the white and green loom are open. The ground is connected to each of the black and grey connector so I pull out the gounding pins, inspected the crimp and check for continuity with my multimeter and all seems good. I plugged everything back in and will drive around for a while to see if the problem goes away. I only get this problem when the car is warm (long crank and limp mode). Put in bypass plugs and problems dissapears.
I do notice that when I pull out the procede that it feels very hot as well. It's warmer than all the other components in the ecu bay. I always cover the bay up with the white cover to protect it from the heat. Once it cools down (after I take it out for about 10 minutes, it works fine again). So theres a chance it could be the procede unit itself although very unlikely. |
