Cold side piping?
What are you single turbo guys using for cold side piping from the FMIC to the chargepipe?

Sinlge's move a much higher volume of air. A stock pipe may work fine for oem's or hybrids but when you move as much air as a single then things happen...

Many people just run whatever charge pipe they did before lol lots of single turbo guys use the ER 3 inch chargepipe, or vrsf 3 inch charge pipe with a tial bov or HKS ssqv.

I just made a custom 3 inch lower charge pipe because I saw the restriction as well.
Most of the popular intercoolers like VRSF and AMS have 3 inch inlets and outlets. Similarly, many of the upper charge pipes are full 3 inch with a coupler that transition to 2.5 inches for the stock lower charge pipe (VRSF, CPE, etc). Even the intercoolers that come with upgraded lower charge pipes are 2.5 inches in diameter. The only 3 inch option that I know of is TFT, and we all know the price of that kit. The car that holds the stock turbo world record dyno had a custom 3 in lower charge pipe. I recently made one fairly easily and fairly cheaply. I'll be posting a thread about it, and may even decide to sell them if there is enough interest. |
