I don't run meth

If I could have put out the fire, I would have.
Usually they go by Retail of local vehicles for sale currently.

I know how you feel man. I'm actually debating on getting a fire extinguisher in both my cars. As much as people say they are rare they are becoming more common.

Speaking from experience I would stay off the forum and posting anything about it as it will come bite you in the ass. I went to court with a local Gm dealer regarding my transmission exploding 3x. Well let's just say they used my forum as evidence that I raced the car down the street and pulled up all my YouTube Vids I had. I lost the car and the case.

I totaled my FBO 135i a few years ago and I had all of the stock parts. The insurance company agreed to let me take my mods off and install the stock parts. They did not care as long as the car had all of the parts. I had the car towed to my house and removed all of the mods and put the stock parts back on.

I doubt that you will recoup any of the cost unless you can recover any of the mods and give them the stock parts.

As others have mentioned, i would delete this thread immediately. Your adjustor will investigate every aspect of you down to your facebook page and any other social media. From an insurance point of view, if you modified the car beyond the factory specifications, especially drastic changes to the engine, then they have specific loopholes in the policy to decline your claim. Holding back on the details is going to make it worse as they will more than likely take what is left of your vehicle and inspect it. Best case is to face up to it and explain the situation and you may have a company and adjustor that will be understanding to your situation.

I've heard of people adding insurance for aftermarket parts on a car, but the topic was typically about wheels, etc. However it may be something to consider if you're putting 10k in performance parts in the car. I think you're payment will sky rocket though

What gives an insurance company the right to request from your ISP or this Forum any personal information regarding your account for their investigation. I do not think this is a criminal case even then it would seem unconstitutional, but its happened many times I am sure.

Now this is all to assume you don't publically post your Name, address or phone number... Facebook is a bit more obviously, and them being able to link multiple entities together is always a possibility, but I would very much feel violated if an insurance company had the right to grab IP address and Private member names from an ISP or Internet Forum for anything like a misdemeanor

What gives them the right? You give them the right when you sign the policy. Check out your policy and read the section called "Duties in the Event of Accident, Claim, Suit or Loss."

Concerning the big brother stuff. It happens more than you would think. Insurance companies are not just the happy face you see on TV. They use personal investigators, surveillance, financials as well as social media to help them adjust claims.
