Cabin Noise Reduction

I didn't have access to a decibel meter, however subjectively there is reduction in road noise and increased stereo clarity. The interior feels "tomb" like now, but shortly ears readjust and start picking up on annoying sounds not heard before. For one a slight buzzing rattle in dash board. With the cold weather coming I'm expecting more little noises.
Cost approx. $100 (roadkill sound deadner)
weight- 50lbs

I would rather hear all kinds of noises and rattles than add an extra 50 lbs to my car. This 335d is a fat pig as is.

Interesting idea. I'm an audiophile, too. The car can't be quiet enough and every buzz annoys the hell out of me.
The buzz/rattle under the dash seems to be common on our cars. Check the lower frame mounting of the CIC/CCC.

I keep wondering why my rear doors sound so hollow when closing them -- I forget that I put sound damping material in my front doors and they now sound pretty solid.

Love the sound of my turbo. Hate creaks, squeeks, and other sounds that make me feel like my car is falling apart.

I got rid of my engine cover because it seems stupid and counter-productive to have the equivalent of a sweater on the engine when the temps under the hood are, in my view, too hot due to the twin turbo setup. That said, I can't say that I particularly love the sound of my car at idle (well actually I do kind of love it) and may consider doing some sound insulation.

I have read in other places that hood, but particularly the front doors, are the source of 50% of the interior noise. The mini cooper pages have a lot on sound insulation given the "bucket of beans" sound to those cars.
