RGB Angel Eyes Issue
Hey guys, just ran into a problem with my RGB Angel Eyes.
I've had them installed for a few months now with no issues, until yesterday. 3 LED's in a row have gone rogue. While being set to white, they show as a bright pink. Anyone have an idea of what the problem could be? My buddy is contacting the manufacturer for a solution, but thought I'd try here as well.

The LEDs have failed.
RGB LEDs are just that....Red, Green, Blue LEDs. The green diode has failed. Those 3 primary colors are mixed together to get all the other colors. Regardless of failure mode, the ring must be replaced. |

I should have noted that the change to pink for the LED's appears to be intermittent -- sometimes the ring is fine, other times it goes all weird on me. Regardless, it seems the LED's are failing and I will need to replace it regardless.

Best solution - contact the manufacturer and get a replacement ring If they wont provide a replacement ring then you can most likely fix this very easily with just a soldering iron and solder. You would need to locate the set of 3 LED's first. since its a RGB LED there will be 3 of 4 legs of the LED on each side, 4 legs if its a RGBW LED. if you put some flux on them and re-heat them it should re-solder the LED's back in place. Send me a message if you need more detailed information on this, but this should be salvageable |

Yea, sounds like bad solder joint.
The ring reliability is severely hit or miss. It's why I still haven't gotten into that market yet. |

Thank for the responses guys, I appreciate the help.
So this morning when I turned my car on, everything was fine, with no bad LED's in sight. I'm going to assume it will keep on going back and forth as the car bounces around, potentially jarring the LED's loose or something. My buddy who installed these for me is currently contacting the manufacturer for a replacement ring. I hope this is a one-time thing, as I really do love the rings.
