Pretty sure this is meant to punish people hacking into other peoples computer systems. Hopefully they lock down the language so that it doesn't apply to people who own the car or who have authorized access from the owner.

Good luck enforcing it.. They have been talking about this for a while, I know the American laws are more strict when it comes to these things compared to Canadian however thats changing with that massive trade deal that they are trying to pass. They are trying to stop people from tinkering, copy right protection etc... Problem is modification of suspension drive train is also considered tinkering.. How to wipe out a whole aftermarket with one law.. Good luck!

Government needs to remember they are there to work for us, not dictate to us. That being said, too much $$$ to be lost by both private and public sectors for this to ever happen.

I think it's people need to remember you don't fix social problems with government.
