$75?? what the heck... that is stupid cheap. i remember when all the e series bmw's were being stolen from uk midlands using a gadget like this. back then (3-4 years ago), stand alone devices were selling for $3-10k out of eastern europe. and now they're $75 lol. (thankfully bmw released updates to turn off the obd2 port when parked)

Still cheaper than the $200 the locksmith ripoff agent wanted... assuming Vt can get it to work, otherwise I got myself an expensive lump of plastic |

Did some more research and you need to program the cas module as well as the key. Requires aseperate programmer for the cas module which is an in circuit programmer which needs some wires soldered to the test pads. None of that part really scares me but if you need to write something back I'd be afraid it bricks and the programmer can't get it back. Think it might not be worth the risk and extra cost of a cas bdm programmer which is another $80-145 usd depending on the model

Sounds like there might be some more costs involved .
I went to a local locksmith today and asked if they could cut and code a blank car key for me. His response was GUY: Yeah sure thing, what brand car? ME: BMW GUY: Oh, no we wont touch those, you have to get a BMW dealer to make new keys for you, its really complicated. ME: Righto Good luck Sock |

$400 is excellent price for CA. I paid about $600 just for a genuine CA key then another $250 to BMW to program it.
