Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser for E92 328i LCI - UPDATE: OEM Sport (is) Diffuser Kit
I've been looking through a lot of the threads on here and online about CF rear diffusers, and get the impression that ordering one that fits and is good quality is basically hit or miss and pretty random.
Specifically I'm looking for a CF rear diffuser (similar to the DD one) for my 2012 E92 328i (standard two exhaust tips on the left). Have any of you bought and successfully installed such a diffuser and can say that it actually fit well and looks good? Would like to find out which vendor you ultimately went with, and if you have any pics of the final fitment, please share! Thanks! PS: Duke Dynamics says their diffusers are made-to-order and fit just like the originals, but I've read a lot of discouraging things on (albeit older) threads about their fitment and QC... Would be great to hear if they've gotten better, too. Last edited by GermanInCA; 10-09-2015 at 05:37 PM.. |

Got mine at mod bargains. Fitment was 8/10, then after 30 minutes of slight grinding, 9.5/10.
Really, E90post? That's butt hurt over MB? Can't even post a link? SMH. Politics.

Don't get me wrong. It 'fit' prior. It just was not as flush as I had desired. I literally shaved a few MM off of it.

I wanted one like you for my 328 but back at that time there really wasn't any other option.
I just went with the 335 style diffuser from DD and converted my exhaust. The diffuser is a perfect fit and I get compliments all the time with how good it looks. |

Thanks for this feedback, too. I'm going with the M*dBargains one for now and will see how that fits on mine.

So much for seeing how it goes...
Turns out the CF diffuser wasn't all that great after all; definitely on the latter side of the hit-or-miss. So instead, I went with an OEM Sport (is) Diffuser Kit, which is similar to what you'd see on a 335is. The part just arrived from Tischer this week and required painting, but quality is excellent, and looks much better than the original M Sport bumper diffuser. Very happy with the choice, and would definitely recommend as a mod. Decided to leave off the matte decals on the sides, as the upper part seemed to look better fully painted. Quick shot from earlier today... Posting more details a little later in my mod thread that's been waiting to get updated. Update - latest mods @ http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?p=13775732 Not sure who punched that hole in the wall. I bought mine from eBay for my E90. Another member bought one and he was happy with the fitment. Quality looks great as well.

You mean a CF diffuser? If so, yes, I've seen a few great looking ones on here; the one I got just wasn't, and given the price and waiting time for those custom pieces, it's mostly a gamble.

Yes. I had mine in less than a week including shipping. Price was $260 I believe after a little negotiating. Glad it turned out great for you.

Sure will do. I haven't installed it yet. I was waiting for the Mtech bumper to come back in stock. Will have it installed next week. I'll upload a pic then.

Had it installed this afternoon. I'd say fitment is 7/7.5. If you look at straight ahead it looks amazing. From the side, it sticks in one to two places a bit and that's after trimming. Pretty happy with it even with the slight issues.
