Electric Water Pump

PLEASE STICKY

Hey Guys,

I just got the bill the other day for a replacement water pump for my e90 328i. The price was astronomical. After seeing how common of an issue this is I decided to try and start a petition to see if perhaps we can get BMW to budge on recalling the part or to contribute towards the replacement costs of the part.

The failure happened to me while doing about 120 km/h (about 75mph) on the highway. With literally no notice the car went into limp mode and I barely could keep it from striking two other cars in the process of getting it to the side.

The pump is definitely a safety issue as much as it is an unnecessary expense for such an expensive car. I guess this part was just an oversight?

Regardless, something needs to be done.

Below is the link to my petition. Please sign

Really.... All you need is one thread. Makes it more difficult to have a discussion of there are more than 2 places to talk about an issue....

Good luck with that...

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

You will have to ask a moderator to do that.

I think you need to start a petition to the Moderators to get a thread closed...
