BMS low temperature thermostat
May I ask if anyone is using it? apart from JB4-335
I feel like it lowers the engine temperature which sounds good to our hot climate. but doesn't sound like suitable for short trips. |

I believe it makes the car take too long to get up to normal operating temp, as at warm up your car bypasses the oil cooler. This thermostat either makes it open earlier or keep it open all the time, cant remember which.

Open all the time. Would be handy to pop it in before a track day.
You can also achieve the same thing for free by flipping the factory plunger thing backwards in the factory thermostat. http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18502

Works well in the heat, back to back pulls on the street would be hard to get hot compared to without it.
Good if your in a hot climate. It takes approximately 10 minutes or less to get above 90 in 30-35 degrees. When its down to 25 degrees or less it can stay 90 or lower for 30mins unless you put a bit of load on it then it stays above 90. |
