I don't have any scientific evidence that they did, but when I did, everything sounded clean, no issues. The thing is, the head unit is programmed to only go so loud.

Your results will vary a lot depending on
which of the three basic BMW sound systems you have.
Because only two have amps and one has a bigger amp.
