Walnut blasting - Aberdeen

Morning all.

I was planning on re-mapping my 2006 E92 330d which has 103k miles on it. Was wondering if I should look at getting it walnut blasted first?? It runs fine as far as I can tell!

Anyone able to point me to a garage around Aberdeen that can help me out with this? Prices would also be great!!

Cheers

Are you sure it needs it? My understanding is diesels are not DI and therefore shouldn't require blasting. I may be wrong though, no knowledge of diesels.

Diesels most definitely are direct injection, but they do have a completely different combustion cycle to petrol. I don't think they get as dirty as the petrol turbos, but I expect there are still build up issues.

Diesels have had direct injection for many years now - the age of swirl chambers is long gone. My old 'N' reg golf tdi90 had direct injection!

Anyway, diesels do suffer because of the crud that accumulates in the inlet tract - recycled gasses from the EGR valve and crankcase vapours. The oil vapour mixes with the soot in the gasses and creates a sludge.

Unlike a petrol though this narrowing of the arteries tends not to be noticeable though unless really fouled up.
