e90 Battery purchase

Yesterday I had trouble starting my car – it would crank just a little and then die. I connected the battery tender overnight and the car is starting now. Clock and few other things were reset.

Given that it is a 7 year old battery, I would want to replace it.

Does anyone know a good place to buy the battery at reasonable prices. I don’t want to go the dealer route and pay 400-500$ just for battery.

Has anyone bought the battery recently? Does Costco carry these batteries?
2008 e90 328i , black color battery (AGM?), 90Ah, 900 CCA

I know there’s whole registration issue and I will deal with that later, for now I plan to replace just the exact same battery to move on.

Auto zone, o'rileys and pep Boys all stock it and they price match. I paid 130$ at auto zone and 75$ for coding

Bmw says to recode for a new battery ( so alternator knows how much charging to do, don't over charge your new battery and make it explode )

No coding needed if replacing the same battery. Just need registration, which you can do with a free app and a cable.

Swing by my place and I can do it for free. It takes 30 seconds.

Could you give a little more details about the app and cable? About to get a new battery myself and it seemed like the cheapest option for registration was the BMWhat app and BT dongle.

BMW logger with a cable you can get from Amazon for 30-40 or $5 more from the BMW logger site and guaranteed to work. I did the latter.

It is so simple, just a click of a button once attached. I can do it for anyone if they want to swing by for free.

I heard the BMWhat app makes you buy another purchase within the app, plus the BT tool is ~$100 if I recall.
