yeah i thought maybe it was fuel too as i've had issues with bad fuel on my previous car, but after a fuel tank from a different shell, i still had the same issue...

Good news it's all sorted now.
As I said on my thread, my car was exhibiting what felt like misfires too. HPFP was fine on mine, as was everything else including coil packs. The intake look exactly like yours though, fucking caked in shite. Bet it feels like a new engine now. Nice work as usual Steve, very thorough. |

Mine had that hesitation and what felt like a misfire under load. Thinking 80mph roll ons on the motorway. Had the inlet ports blasted and it fixed the issue. Car pulls much more cleanly and the fuel economy has risen by 2-3mpg. Can't enthuse about it enough for cars with DI. What were manufacturers thinking???

DI is a far superior method of injection. It's much easier to control the amount of fuel being injected etc.
Miles better for power and economy

Sorry to threadjack....
I know the common failing parts that could cause a misfire are spark plugs, coil packs or injectors. Can failure of the hpfp cause misfires? |
