ive only put CA 91 octane in it throughout my ownership, previous owner babied it
That is so disheartening. Makes me wonder if I chose the right platform (N54) to build on. More and more threads like this keep popping up about n54 issues.

Yup, too add insult to injury a good friend of mine has an 09 E90 335i with 110k miles on it. Absolutely no problems with his car, we have similar mods and he really beats on his car and it still runs fine and healthy. Guess I must have gotten unlucky haha, my car has been good to me in my year of ownership until now.

I bought my car with 2k on the engine. 72k on chassis. Car is still CPO. Previous engine threw a rod bearing. Replaced by BMW. I just now find out that the block was the only thing replaced. They literally kept the same turbos, spark plugs, etc... In the past 8k miles, I have had the car in the shop for:
-leaking rear main seal ($2500) I only paid $50 for CPO
-Misfire on cyl 1 and 3 ($1k) they replaced all injectors. I only paid $50
Now, since the injector replacement I smell burnt oil inside my cabin every 5 minutes.

I'm growing tired of my issues. But thank you for your replies in here letting us now the outcome of your troubles.
