Slipping Clutch: N54 335i . need advise
After exercising the walnut blast procedure to my n54 @50k, the car was running better, and harder, then ever
...... After a week or the clutch started slipping durring full throttle loads.. ![]() Anyone here in the PNW have any experience with upgraded clutches? 550I. Clutch conversion? Or other After market options? No single mass flywheels..I don't want my car to sound like it's falling apart... Open to hearing any suggestions.... |

If you are under 540 whp, i'd recommend a Spec 2+ with an oem flywheel. Everything else is going to chatter. |

I am FBO. Running e60 or heavier backend flash. NLS shifting
Ar first I though I was hitting torque limit but quickly found it was my clutch 450hp ish... So nothing too crazy... I am surprised clutch gave out at such low power I like the sound of using the pen flywheel...asuming it's not all ruined.. How is the clutch feel in a setup like that? |

Twosickz 8s right, your not supposed to use use the flywheel ( it's self adjusting) and will cause new clutch to ware faster. I can replace them for your if needed

i've done a few clutch replacements in last few years so i think I got this.. if I run into any "time crunch" then I will consider your offer .. whats is your cost for the service? Thanks for the advise guys! Glad to see people are still somewhat responsive here in PNW.! |

get the 335is/550i clutch for sure. I'd personally go with a single mass flywheel like MFactory (that's what I did) and just raise your idle to get rid of any chatter. I initially reused my stock flywheel and I'd recommend not doing it. It worked for me but it became very worn and started chattering like a single mass.

The 550i/ 335is clutch will hold up very well. Search the main forum and you'll find dozens of guys pushing over 600wtq to these things for many miles with zero issues.
