BMC Filter..

Anyone have the BMC filter and notice if it makes the car more throaty and purr more than stock? I ordered one and wanted some feedback as to the sound if it makes any difference to stock...

I drove my car twice in the last two weeks.The first time was after i put the BMC filter in.I drove around for about 45 minutes on back roads,highway,smooth, straight country roads and a little stop and go driving.If you know your car you will feel a slight difference only in the higher rpm,s. Just driving normal in any situation you wont feel a difference on a stock car.But when yourgetting on the car in the lower gears and winding it up,you hear a slightely more throaty sound,and just a hint of the turbo,s spooling.I believe any drop in filter will only make power in the higher rpm,s when rowing through the gears that you might feel with the butt dyno.Unless you really know how your car feels theres a big placebo effect with a lot of drop in filter users. Not just BMW cars,all of them.BTW the second time was back on the stock filter (2700 miles), same driving conditions. Thats how i could tell the difference in the BMC vs the stock one.

I ordered one yesterday from Race Precision. The guys name is Eloy and was super cool and gave the $85 price. He suggested I try the Ram Air also. $150......I will have to get back to him on that one. My BMC will be here Monday. I will post my opinion. He also stated that this filter needs no cleaning until around 45,000 miles are put through it. Have a great weekend.
