Aah yes, Maundrell and Co, near Wantage right? I went to test drive a 123d coupé from them a while ago, before I got got the e92. They were very pleasant indeed, but I struggled to find their showroom, it's in the middle of nowhere!

Enjoy your new car!

Is it really more fun to drive compared to your E91?

I am not trying to get you banned here but interested to hear your views on the points which I asked.
The banned thing was a joke really Sam!! I hope I wouldn't be banned just because I'm discussing another brand?!?! Anyway....

It's much quicker than my mapped E91. My E91 ran 353bhp and 385 lbft and I seem to remember weighed 1650kg. This is running around 410bhp and 400lbft and weighs 1575kg. Couple that to the Quattro and like @cupraraj said, the Launch Control and it's monstrously quick.

It feel so much more planted than the E91 too, all down to the Quattro I suppose. Most likely my lack of driving ability but I was always really nervous with the E91 as it did love to step out sideways!

Again due to the Quattro I feel I can have more fun in the RS3 as it gives you the confidence to press on.

the rs3 is honestly rapid. even though its got like 340hp or something like that the launch control is deadly.

OP. be careful with the buckets. few bolts and there out the car and gone...a friend of mine had them in his sportback S3 he ended up selling as attracted too many people, get tints in my opinion only way to keep them safe
You are right mate. It is rapid, especially with a Revo map and Wagner Tuning intercooler on! There is more to come too

As for the seats, well I've had them in my S3 and RS4 and touch would not had an issue. I have a cunning plan on this one as well, my friendly bodyshop guy will be being contacted Monday!

I have to disagree on this one. I think the interior on the RS3 is nicer than my E91. Both are exceptional quality but to me, because of the seats probably, the RS3 wins here.

Thanks buddy! I have a good friend in the states who said exactly the same thing to me when I found out I was getting one!

Cheers Rudz! Nah mate, no red. Couldn't live with red, red cars hate me. The seats are exceptionally comfy.

Thanks Bazz. The grey was actually my second choice but as a Sprint Blue RS3 is less common than a Unicorn, it had to be grey!

Yeh Maundrell certainly is hidden away that is for sure! I actually drove past the entrance when I went for my test drive as it doesn't look like a car dealers!! Once you are in there though, wow they have some beautiful cars. I was especially taken back by the Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale, 458 Speciale and the Alfa 8C they have there.

BTW you may regret having those bucket seats on a long drive. They look great but not the most comfortable seats. A mate had them in his new RS5 and he didn't like them not too long after buying the car !
Thanks mate! I'd obviously be interested in seeing pictures, but I'm biased! I saw an RS7 at the local Audi Dealer recently. I swear the carbon ceramics on the front of it were bigger than the wheels on my car. Insane!

Funny you mention about the seats as I had the recaro's in my S3 and drove it non-stop to the south of France and had no issues at all. I drove the E91 there (northern Spain this time) and was in a world of pain upon arrival. Swore I'd never have another car without Recaro's and were my only must have option for the RS.

Lovely looking car, I was wondering what you were replacing the 335i with, afterall that wasn't a bad looking machine either

Just remember the rest of us poor sods still making so with E9Xs, now rubbing shoulders with chavs

Thanks mate, appreciate the

Don't get me wrong, I'd still be running the E91 if I hadn't ended up with some money out of the blue, I only had it 14 months and had just got it looking how I wanted. There was so much more to do on it as well, but I wasn't going to turn the RS down when given the green light

I love the thing mate, like seriously love the thing!!! If marriage between man and machine was possible, I'd propose in a heartbeat!

I can't recommend one highly enough, just make sure you get one with the Recaro Buckets because they make it so much more special.

It's had a few more changes recently so the mods list currently stands at:

Bilstein Coils
Full Milltek Non Res Turbo Back
Uprated PropShaft Bolts
MRC Map
MRC S-tronic Map
034 Motorsports Rear ARB
Bola B10 Wheels (19x8.5 ET45)
Black Optics Grill

What sort of details are you after? Throw some questions at me and I'll answer them as best I can.

Wow must be a rocket! and yes I am defo after one with the buckets. quick question regarding the buckets. is there any type of safety bolts you can tie them down with? as I know they can get snatched in around a couple of minutes and have heard of many occasions where it happens

I want a standard one first and if im happy with the power etc and everything only mods will be visual wise, what power are you running now?

real life mpg?
service costs?
how to much to fill the tank and how many miles do you get?
power delivery?
have you had a play with any other cars on the road?
any issues or common faults that you could advise on?

many people will say you don't buy these cars to care about mpg etc but It still does matter to me my x6 barely sees 22mpg so why drive a big x6 diesel when I could drive an RS3

I really like the look of the red with the black and red rotars but I would like a white one aswell. black is defo a no but I do like your grey aswell!!

thanks.

It's more of an animal than a rocket!! Without the exhaust it was running 404bhp and 600nm! Now that's fitted + the Forge Intercooler to come in January, map tweak at MRC should see about 440bhp and 650nm!! What's great is to be able to put it down through all 4 wheels!!

real life mpg? 23mpg (I do about 12 miles a day to and from work, about 6000 miles a year)

service costs? Front discs and pads are about £400, rears are £150, Haldex oil needs doing every 40-50k can't remember how much, Gearbox oil is about £120, nothing really major in all honesty.

how to much to fill the tank and how many miles do you get? Nitro+ costs me about £60-£70, get around 270-300 miles from a tank.

power delivery? Mental, absolutely mental and the speed it changes gear is phenomenal (especially with the map!)

have you had a play with any other cars on the road? Plenty of plays with other cars. Had a great bit of fun with a Porker 996 Turbo in Spain on my way back from Portugal! To say he was gutted was an understatement!!

any issues or common faults that you could advise on? Warped discs and exploding propshaft bolts (when using launch control). Both of which are a 'known' issue with Audi and the discs are covered by Audi Warranty if you kick up enough fuss.

Sounds good, maintenance isn't much really to be honest.

so was you this in love with it when it was standard or is it the mods that have made you fall deep

I am confident I wont be modding one when I get one - well performance wise anyway.

To be honest I loved it from day 1, but I loved my S3 too so knew I'd fall for the RS3!! Don't tell anyone but I didn't really get on with my E91 335i, looked amazing once I'd finished but I'm a VAG man through and through so it never really stood a chance!

Modding it, both looks and performance wise has just made me fall hella deep in love with it!!

It's a practical family weapon!!!
