Multiple CEL codes and limp modes plus service engine soon
I made a 2 day trip of about 900 miles (450 miles per day) and during this trip I got:
Service engine soon(car had 4900 miles when this happened, now it has about 5300 miles) p0300(misfire) p0301(misfire) p0302(misfire) p0303(misfire) p0304(misfire) p0306(misfire) and also my half engine sign came several times. The only real difference in condition were the altitude changes(3100 to 700ft) and also going from 91oct to 93oct, other than that I made this trip using only 1/3 of the gas pedal . I went to the Vishnu forum and someone mentioned that you could clear the codes with the Vishnu scan code reader by going though the whole cycle 3 times: 1-2-3...4-5. Additionally I also have the bulb sign on for the last 6 weeks, when I go to the on board computer self checkout it shows cc-id 134. Do you guys think the fuel pump is starting to give me trouble?. I took the car to Autozone for verification and they plugged the "expensive" code reader and it read the same code. They even gave me a print out of probable causes: 1) Ignition system fault-spark plug, ignition wires, coil 2) Vacuum leak 3) Injector fault 4) High or low fuel pressure Despites all the CEL the car runs good and that is why I writing here. Last but not least, how should I clear the codes? the code reader did not cleared them, someone (from the vishnu forum) suggested going through the cycle 3 times but the codes remain on . Thanks! |

Thnak you soo much, I read a bit about this issue in another member's topic. It clearly sees to me like the ECU is too "sensitive" to voltage changes on the lighting system, at least that is what other members described the issue.

No, not at all, the car behaves well. The amaizing part is that I dragged this car in multiple ocasions and I never had any single limp mode,in fact I ran the car at the dragstrip up to 14 times(hot lapping it) and the car could never see the 250 degree mark.
I also drove the car hard in the middle of the summer in Tucson and again, the car never saw the 250 degree mark nor it went one single time into limp mode, this is a first time for me.. ![]() |

It is amaizing and ironic how such a new car could already develop a corrosion..

Man that is weird. I know I'm gonna get flamed for this
![]() I had a similar issue right after I installed V2 and it was because one or more of the intercept splices had come loose when I pulled the ECU out to add the new harness. I retaped all of the connections, disconnected the battery to reset the ECU, and everything worked fine. I also had an issue when I attempted to relocate the ground wire (unsuccessfully...) Please let us know what happens. |

My update is that I made the trip back from San Antonio to Tucson(856 miles to be exact) and the same crap happened. I gunned it once and I got the half engine sign and the service engine soon.
I got the half engine sign several times during the trip even though I wasn't on the gas at all(I had it at 2500 rpm on 6th gear and with the cruise control). Vishnu hasn't read my post I guess ![]() ![]() Last edited by Evo8MRto335I; 01-04-2008 at 11:51 AM.. |
