The carbon fiber diffuser I have was custom made to fit the M Tech rear bumper made by JL Motoring. Is that considered true? Would that work? I have the factory OEM stock fiberglass (grey looking) diffuser installed and I'm looking to remove that one. |

You should be clear about what car and what diffuser in this forum.

No, you should be able to reach behind bumper to release the tabs that hold the piece on. You may need to remove the plastic underbody trim held on by a few 8mm screws..

Remove the (7) 8mm screws from the bottom of the diffuser, the top part is with tabs. Slowly pull out from one side and work your way out. Install vice versa.

I had to trim it a little in order to fit the performance diffuser on my e90.

You don't have to remove bumper but it will make installing the diffuser a whole lot easier if you do. Rear bumper removal isn't too difficult.
