multifunction buttons

Hi all...
Just a quick question about part numbers really...
My cars an 56/07 model 335d with paddle shift wheel ..and I've been told by an indy that my problem may lie with me having the wrong part number mfb.
I purchased the car knowing that the slip ring needed replacing as nothing worked on my wheel so changed that..now everything works apart from my paddles so I'm thinking the previous owner might have changed them for some strange reason...

So back to my question is the part number on the multi function buttons on my model all the same or are they different?

I cant advise part number but they are different. For example. my 335i had different MFB on the right side to my current 325D (335i had iDrive and the 325D doesn't). M3's also have slightly different button layouts etc.

So in short the part numbers shouldn't be the same across the ranges/spec lists. Is it the original steering wheel?

This is what I'm trying to figure out I don't think it is a standard wheel for my model or maybe just a different fascia ill post a pic you may have better knowledge than myself..I'm just trying to narrow down my non working flappy paddles and thought I might have the wrong part code on the buttons

Garage List
2010 E93 335i DCT  [0.00]
2006 E92 335i  [0.00]
Those MFBs are from a later model for sure. A 56 plate should have the star and diamond buttons instead of the recirc and source buttons.

If your car is an M Sport like in your avatar, it's the wrong wheel entirely.

There is a possibility the paddles don't work because your car never had them.

Do you know roughly what ball park part number I would be needing by any chance as it's definitely a 56 model

I've seen different buttons on very similar cars. Maybe it's due to spec.

I do have a set of the buttons with the diamond and star if it helps.

So the buttons are mix and match then no chance of coding needed if that's even an option? So the part numbers don't need to match
