2A87 Exhaust Vanos Mechanism ?

Hi Guys,

My bother just pursched a N54 335 and after 100km got an error message "Reduced Power CEL" caused by 2A87 Exhaust Vanos Mechanism.

We are on a highway and have another 600km to go.

Is it safe to drive the car if the above error appeared ?

I know that we can swap around both vanos and clean them but we don't have any tools to do that at the moment.

What do you recommend ?

Just clear it, and drive it, don't go WOT. It is safe to drive, happened to me before, i clean and swapped them, the code hasn't come back since.

Do you change the engine oil every 5K?
