GM Automatic - Hard Shift into 6th?
Hi All,
(Just thought I'd post this in the e90 section as well since the 128i and 328i share the same transmission). I have a 2009 128i 6AT with the GM transmission with about 76 000 miles at this point (out of warranty). I bought the car in 2012 with about 19 000 miles, and I've been doing mostly highway driving. Ever since I bought the car, when I'm on the highway, accelerating to pass, the car shifts back hard into 6th after I let go of the gas. (This is especially reproducible when the car is going slightly uphill). Otherwise, no problems with shifting at all. Very rarely I get a slight bump when downshifting from 3 - 2 but otherwise no problems. I'm just wondering if this is normal or not, and if it's worth having this looked at? Has anyone else experienced this? From my preliminary searches it might be normal operation for torque converter lock-up... Any input would be appreciated. Thanks. |
