Factory adaptive bi-zenon LED upgrade???
Can someone please figure out how to stick some badass LED headlights in the factory bi-zenon housings... my wife has a 2015, IS350 F-sport, and those freakin led headlights are the brightest, sickest headlights I've ever seen! I'd kill for headlights half that bright!

Unfortunately, you can't (well you can but not safely) throw in LED bulbs into Xenon housings and expect to get the same brightness or output. From what I've gathered, the projectors have to be designed to be used with LEDs as they emit light differently when compared to a bulb. I don't think it's worth it especially if it'll detract from the whole purpose of headlights.
If you're looking for brighter output, you can get better bulbs. If you're running stock bulbs still on your 2008, they might be getting dimmer from age as is normal tendency for xenons. I personally use Osram Xenarc CBI's rated at 5000K. They're stupidly bright but need about 10-12 hours of use before they're fully broken in. For me at least on my 2009, there was a pretty big difference. Halogen bulbs on other cars look like candles in comparison. Hope this helped! |
