E90 Brake System swop to M3?

I ll have to change both rear, and from rotors as well as pads within a couple of months from now.
so I m thinking to swop the whole thing for e90 M3 system.
can it be done?

I'm not sure M3 brakes fit on a regular non-M e90.
I haven't heard of anyone doing the swap.
Recently the BBK of choice is the F30 M-Performance kit.
The fronts are plug-n-play.

prob is, its damn too expensive overhere, i might be able to fetch a full M-Kit used for less price, yet, i m not sure if it can be installed. what shall be the main parts to look for?

The caliper bracket bolts might not line up.
Do you have a 335 or something else?

Correct, both front and rear caliper carriers will not line up, from e9x M3 to any non M e9x.

1) f30 340mm front in 135i calipers > did that work?
2) what are you running in the back?

1) I plan to try the F2x/F3x 340mmx30 front rotors next year - mine are still okay to last a few months. I fear some bad wear on pads at first, but then it should be great since e46 m3 CSL are 28mm wide and work in the 135i caliper, so 1mm per side should not add issues. Next is the height, 338 vs 340mm it should be okay, 1mm closer to caliper
2) 135i rear calipers and 135i rear rotors. No hand brake...:/ Planing to fix the hand brake with modded e46m3 rear hand bake shoes
3) Will use your idea of m3 Master brake cylinder as well

I will try to find a big enough rotor, equal to 135i rear that will work with 165mm parking brake shoes.
Or at least one that you could easily modify to fit.

If you can, please try, it may be an old 5 series, or something that is so off the wall like using a front rotor in the rear and having a crappy hand brake surface( all because it lines up) . ( example 34116792221 is pretty close to 128i oem hand brake sizem, but it is a front f2x rotor and its hat is a bit too short OR 34116757746 5 series e39 and others that is super close just x30mm wide)

I have best results searching this in Google: "BMWPN# ATE"
ATE makes some great diagrams. example for 1 series "34216855005 ate"

So far I learned people can use 328i rear sized rotors (300x20 same as 128i oem) on 135i rear caliper, its a bit smaller than 324x22 oem rotor

Alternatively, those that did Hub-mod from 1 series to 3 series they can actually take a e9x 335i 336X22 rear rotor and Custom Grind down diameter of it by 3-5mm and it will work. especially since the F10 330X20 rotors worked with out issue and need to relocate mounting of 135i rear caliper.

EDIT:

I found the another candidate e34 5 series 540i 34112226385
315x28
http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E34-540...ors/ES2643209/
It even has a hand brake "spot"

Here is a 302mm version of the same disk

Only H does not match - too small

Thoughts @feuer ?

I doubt it. Need custom brake carriers and other rotors like e46m3csl
Here is why:
e9x m3 front hub is different, more shallow than OEM, shorter rotor hats, so will the F8x be similar.

Look up any ATE or Zimmermann diagram of e9x front rotor see how tall the hat is, compare to F8x, realize that F8x is shorter by 10-20mm....So the Caliper will have to be pushed Outward by that Delta using spacers or new offset mounting bracket

I've searched for diagrams of the F8x rotors, but haven't found anything at all.. E92-335i rotor I have found diagrams. If you know where to source I would be happy if you could help me out on this

Custom bracket isn't impossible, I work in CAD and my friend have a CNC mill.

I agree. No diagrams of f8x rotors. Maybe you can ask a vendor to measure?

I think this is only worth it to try for the ceramic kit because the other is simmilar to the f3x kits

new M3/M4 calipers are the same with f30 Mperformance. M cars have only different rotors because the uprights are different. So new M3/M4 brakes will fit any e9x non M

If you look further up in the thread, M3 won't fit.
135 Brembo or F30 Brembo.
Look at ebay.

Not sure about international shipping.
I got my fit off ebay.

Not only H but B would be a problem as well. I will not fit between the pads. At least that is what I think.

Happy New Year.
