I'd go for the SE - i'd only get the Alfa if Mangoletsi supplied and serviced it or if I knew of a good stealer in south east.

It's a tough one, that's for sure. I have an e91 SE 320d, I might've got an M-Sport for the price of the options I put on the SE, but someone fuffed up the quotes I was using to compare the two specs. Bitter? Me? You betcha.
Anyway. Really tough one - depreciation on the M-Sport should be less (assumption) so it might be no more expensive to get a 320d M-Sport? Does the new company do outright purchase or lease? Is the new 320d cleaner than the 318d? Try the "It'll cost you less in fuel" tactic. You really need to get wheels on a base SE, - I quite like the 325d style 17" wheels, but I managed to get the 17" staggered ones (161's I think they are?). Obviously, the M-Sport comes with Staggered 17s as standard. I got Sport seats and steering wheel and sports suspension. At the start of typing this, I was thinking "318d? Ughhh" but thinking about the base spec of the SE, I'm now thinking "Base Spec SE? Yuck". Can't beleive I'm saying this, but if it was base spec SE vs Base spec M-Sport, it'd be the 318d M-Sport. With a tuning box... Mine you, I found the 163 320d a bit lacking...

We have an Alfa 147 with the 150bhp diesel engine and I think its a great car. Although the engine can sound a little rough it loves to rev and has lots of power. In the 147 especially it is a quick little car. We've had no probelems with reliability either and will probably change it for a Brera at some point soon.
