Arrow Borla Exhaust

I have searched and heard the clips of the borla on youtube.

I want to hear feedback from Borla owners about the sound and compare the soud to other exhuast systems for the 335i. I understand that the borla is on the quite side but how quite is it?

If I take off the cats and replace it for a straight pipe, will it be any louder?

Thanks

-Amir

I had the Borla installed on my car last week. I wanted something close to stock sound..not loud. Here's the results (this is from my point of view INSIDE the car).
At idle it slightly louder but not much at all (deeper tone).
The 2k to 2.5K range it is loud in and out of the car under any throttle position. Once it gets over 3k range it sounds slightly louder than stock. I would say the exhaust as a whole isn't louder...maybe a few db's. More than anything the tone is deeper than loud. You do hear some vacuum effects since (the oem exhaust has a vacuum unit on the driver's side rear which opens and closes on throttle position). By this I mean, the exhaust shutters a bit when you rev it a little and at lower RPMs.

I'll be dyno'ing the car again within the next two weeks to see what type of gains I achieved. My buttseat dyno can't tell a difference with the Borla on vs. oem, but we'll soon find out...

It would be great to see another independent test/dyno of the Borla system!

i had a borla catback system on my rx8... favorite mod by all means.
it was noticeably louder, but subtle at the same time (if that makes any sense). it truely brought out the low rumble from the engine, and sounded fantastic. If i hadn't got my eisenmann, i would've looked a lot more into the borla exhaust system for my e90.

How loud? Is it a noticeable drone during cruising speeds?
